Management Training

Successful Six Sigma / Lean Six Sigma deployment begins with management leadership. Leaders trained as Six Sigma Champions align the program with the organization's strategic objectives through project sponsorship, resource allocation to project teams, and on-going oversight of program effectiveness. Without the leadership of committed Champions, Six Sigma teams lack the authority, resources and business integration necessary for project and program success.

Our approach integrates responsibilities for Six Sigma deployment and on-going management into the leadership ranks as quickly as possible by building competencies, systems, and resources for full self-sustainability and growth potential. Quality America offers a Six Sigma Executive Leadership course targeted to Senior Management, as well as a Six Sigma Champion course designed specifically for Operational Management. If top management is not yet committed to implementing Six Sigma, we recommend our one-day Executive Overview to generate awareness of the benefits. Our two-day Champion courses for Executive Leadership and Operational Managements are led by Paul Keller, author of Six Sigma Deployment: A Guide for Implementing Six Sigma in Your Organization and Six Sigma Demystified.

The Six Sigma Executive Leadership course (see agenda) includes workshops to achieve both immediate and longer-term outcomes including:

Identify & discuss potential stumbling blocks to the Six Sigma deployment;
Align project selection criteria with critical strategic business objectives;
Define methods for project sponsorship, approvals and verification of gains;
Establish general goals for Six Sigma Leadership Team and metrics to gauge progress;
Discuss human resource challenges and organizational cultural issues; Develop initial communication plan;
Define an implementation schedule.

The Six Sigma Champion Training for Operational Management (see agenda) achieves a number of additional outcomes necessary to commence Black Belt training, Green Belt training and project deployment, including:

Selecting the Green Belt and Black Belt candidates;
Establishing the project selection criteria and sponsorship methodology;
Selecting potential Six Sigma projects for the first wave Black Belts and their teams.

Project Team Training

Once Champions have been trained, and the prerequisite outcomes achieved, Black Belts and Green Belts begin their training. Our most popular offering includes a one-week On-site Green Belt Training, attended by Green Belt and Black Belt candidates, supported by Champions. Black Belts continue their training with our Online Black Belt course, supplemented with web-based or on-site Project Consulting (a blended solution). Six Sigma Certification is also available for Green Belts and Black Belts.
