Green Belt Training

Green Belts are employees trained in basic Six Sigma concepts, including project management, team building, general problem solving and statistical analysis. They work as part of a team assigned to a given project, maintaining their operational roles in the organization. Eventually, most employees will achieve Green Belt status.

The Green Belt training is a one-week course, providing an overview of the Six Sigma concepts and tools. It allows the Green Belts to speak the language of the Black Belts, so they understand the need and application of the various tools. Our Green Belt course is offered as on-site training.

Key benefits of attendance include:

  • Knowledge of the language and tools of the Black Belts and Project Teams.

    • Workshops and Discussions allow attendees to apply their skills to a variety of issues, including:

  • Deployment Practices
  • Project Charters & Scheduling
  • Teams & Consensus Building
  • Project Definition
  • Process Baseline, Measurement Systems Analysis and SPC
  • Regression Basics, including an overview of Designed Experiments
  • Lean Methods

    • Six Sigma Champions may also attend portions of the Green Belt training to develop a general understanding of the tools used by the Project Teams. For on-site training, we recommended that trained Black Belts and/or master Black Belts attend the Green Belt training, particularly to provide assistance during Workshops. This helps foster a strong working relationship between the Green Belts and the Black Belts.

    Green Belts also should have access to software during the training coursework and for on-going projects. Several software packages are optionally available at discount prices from QA Six Sigma Partners, including Minitab and Quality America's Green Belt XL software . Our trainers are experienced in all the popular Six Sigma software, so can easily train your Black Belts using your current software, or recommend the best software for your needs.
