Pyzdek's Guide to SPC
Instructor's Materials, 2nd Edition

by Thomas Pyzdek

This new edition of instructor's materials contains many major new features and enhancements. It is an excellent package for the trainer who needs to present statistical process control (SPC) concepts. It comes complete with student notebooks that contain a copy of each overhead and enough space to take notes. There is also a workbook for industrial use and another for use in service industries.

This trainer's kit provides an introduction to SPC as well as information on how to effectively implement and manage SPC. It is suitable for all employees who want to learn what SPC is all about all the way from the engineer to the machine operator, from top management to the hourly employee.

When an earlier version of this SPC training package was reviewed by Quality Digest Magazine in 1992, the review included this paragraph The Instructor's Manual and Overhead Visuals are a gold mine for someone who has to present anything dealing with statistical process control. Pyzdek has probably saved thousands of users thousands of hours preparing such detailed overhead transparencies."

Yes, we were impressed with those two-color overheads. However, by comparison, the new four-color overheads wowed us! Also, the number of overheads has increased from 122 to 180. The number of pages in the instructor manual has increased from 40 to 434. In addition, it takes two large binders to contain everything instead of the previous one. For those who like to work with 35mm slides instead of overhead transparencies, that option is also available in this updated package.

Material is laid out in a step-by-step way that a trainer can follow with minimal preparation. Or, an experienced presenter can pick and choose from the materials to suit the special needs of those receiving the training.
