Modifying Gage Types, Gage Status, Manufacturers and Departments

Each gage in the database has a type, status, manufacturer and department field associated with it, as defined in the Add Gage or Edit Gage dialog boxes. You might want to pre-define these lists so that when gages are added or edited a common description will be used for each of these fields. Occasionally, you’ll want to rename these descriptions, or inactivate descriptions so that they are not used.

The Options menu provides separate dialog boxes for maintaining each of these lists, but they all function quite similarly. Shown here is the Gage Types dialog box displaying all the Active Gage Types (note radio button setting at the bottom of the dialog box). The Edit button allows you to edit the description of the selected Gage Type, or change its status to Inactive (so that it cannot be used in the future).
