From the Chart window, enter free-floating Annotations (not attached to a group) with the Abc text button 
. This text is not saved in the data file, but saved if the chart is saved.
Selecting Assignable Cause from the right mouse menu allows text to be attached to a subgroup. Select any of the columns in the data file for storing this text if one hasn't already been defined.
