| Contents | Index Work Sets A work set consists of a set of file windows set in a particular location in the application window. Windows may be minimized within the application window, or tiled, or cascaded, or combinations of such. Work Set commands are contained in the Windows menu to open, save, or make a set the default, so that the Work Set automatically opens when the application is opened. To Save a Work Set To save a Work Set, first arrange all your chart and data windows as you would like them when you reopen the Work Set. Windows may be minimized within the application window, or tiled, or cascaded, or combinations of such. Additionally, you should save all the data files, and must save all charts as chart files. From the Window menu, select Work Set. Select Save or Save As. If you select Save As, or havent previously saved the Work Set, you will be prompted to enter a Set Name, which can be up to 40 characters long. If you havent saved the individual data files and chart files, you will be prompted to do so. (The number of files you can save in a work set is limited by system resources, but is not a consideration for most users). To Open a Work Set To open a workset, select Work Set from the Window menu, then Open. Select the Work Set name from the Work Sets list box. Since you can only have a single Work Set open at a time, all open files and Work Sets will be closed. (You will be prompted to save all unsaved files). The Work Sets list box contains all the Work Sets saved in the default _workset.tbl file in the directory specified in the Preferences dialog box, making it possible for many individuals to personalize their own Work Sets. To change the location of the default Work Sets file, select Preferences from the Options menu, then select the Directories button, and enter the appropriate directory path into the Work Sets text box. To Automatically open Work Sets when starting You can choose to automatically open a work set every time the program is run. If you always open the same files every day, this would be a logical choice. While the Work Set is open with the windows in the arrangement you want, select Set Default from the Work Set sub-menu in the Window menu. This will automatically save the Work Set, so if you have made any changes to the Work Set since the last save you will be prompted to overwrite the Work Set or save it under a new name. When you reopen the application, the Work Set will appear as it was when you last saved it under the name selected when you Set Default. |
