Sending Alerts

The send parameters for an Alert Condition are defined within the Alerts dialog box , accessible from the Analysis Options dialog box .

Send Text
: Enter into this text box a message to be sent with the alert, such as the desired action when the alert condition is violated. This will prompt the person responsible for the process to act. Their subsequent actions or results of investigations can be communicated back to all workstations included in the Alert Send.

Send Alert To: This list box contains the workstations that will receive an alert when one is triggered. Move workstation names from the Do Not Send Alert To list box to the Send Alert To list box by either double clicking on the entry in the Do Not Send Alert To list box, or single clicking on the entry and clicking on the Add button. Workstation names may be removed from the Send Alert To list box by single clicking on the entry and clicking on the Delete button.

Note:

  1. The workstation names listed in the Do Not Send Alert To and Send Alert To list boxes in the Alerts dialog box are determined by your Alerting setup. Clicking on the Setup button will access the Alerting Setup dialog box . (This dialog is also available from the Options menu).

  2. The "This Station" station name refers to any station that has opened the file and initiated a chart "recalc" (such as file saving, entering new data, selecting the chart recalc button or menu selection). Select both the "This Station" station name and your user-defined station name so that both stations may receive alerts generated within this file.
