Saving Charts

Although the analysis options and chart format options are saved in the data files, allowing most charts to be easily redrawn, any chart specific information (entered into the Chart Options dialog box ) is lost, notably queries used to select subgroups matching specific criteria. In this case, the chart analyses can also be saved using the file format .qdc.

The qdc format is also particularly useful for saving charts generated on an everyday basis. This file format retains a link to the qdb data file from which it was generated, so to add data to the chart file, you will be prompted to open the data file from which it was last linked. You are given a choice of whether or not to update Analysis Options and Chart Format Options in the originating data file when you edit the Analysis Options and Chart Format options.
