The Print dialog box has the following options:

Print: (Not available when the Data Editor is the active window) Select to print one of the following:

  • Statistics: the contents of the Statistic window

  • Summary Chart: the contents of the Chart window

  • Detailed Chart: the chart with detailed information for each point such as found in the Statistics window. Note that for control charts, only 5 subgroups can be provided on each page.

Output to: Select the format in which you would like the material printed. The printer listed here is that specified in the Printer Setup dialog box .

Other choices include:

  • File (ASCII Text): Available when printing either the Data Editor or Statistics. Specify a file name in the File Name text box.

Note: When printed output is sent to a file, the program will store the file in the directory specified in the Output text box in the Directories dialog box. To access this dialog box, select the Directories button from the Preferences dialog box, available from the Options menu. You can override this directory choice by entering a full path name before the file name in the Print dialog box

  • File (PCX Format): Available when printing either the Summary or Detailed Chart. See PCX / JPEG Export

  • File (Metafile (WMF) Format): Available when printing either the Summary or Detailed Chart. See WMF File Export

  • File (JPEG (JPG) Format): Available when printing either the Summary or Detailed Chart. See PCX / JPEG Export

Show Groups: Available when printing a Summary control chart to a printer. Enter the subgroups to display on the printed chart.

Notes for Show Groups option:

  1. When there is a discontinuous range charted, the omitted groups are not printed.

  2. When the first printed group is not specified, the default start group for printing is the first charted group.

  3. When the first plotted group extends prior to the first charted group, the default first group for printing is the first charted group

  4. When the last printed group is not specified, the default last group for printing is the last charted group

  5. When the specified last printed group ends beyond the last charted group, the x-axis scaling (including center line and control limits) extends beyond the data range by the number of excess groups (scaled in equal increments to the printed groups). In this case, the limits (and center line) for the last plotted group is used for the extended groups

Text Options: Available when printing either the Data Editor or Statistics to a printer. See Text Options .

Page Setup: Available when printing to a printer. Selecting this button opens the Page Setup dialog box for specifying the Top, Bottom, Left and Right margins (in inches) applied to the printed output. This dialog box is also available from the File menu.
