| Contents | Index Navigation Through the Data Editor Window You may move through the Data Editor window in a number of ways, including keyboard entry, jumping to a specified subgroup, or using the scroll bars at the right and bottom of the window. Keyboard commands Note: If the Smart Cursor is operational (by default), then the UP-ARROW, DOWN-ARROW, TAB, and SHIFT+TAB keys will move to the next valid cell. A valid cell is determined by the subgroup structure of your file. For example, if you have two columns in your file, one with a subgroup size of 5 and the other with a subgroup size of 3, the cells in the column with the subgroup size of 3 that are on the same row as the 4th and 5th readings in a subgroup in the first column are not valid cells for data entry, and the Smart Cursor will skip over them. The edit box will display "(N/A)" to signify cells that are not valid for data entry. The Smart Cursor is made operational by selecting the Smart Cursor in variables Data Sets option in the Preferences dialog box, available from the Options menu. UP-ARROW: moves to the previous row DOWN-ARROW: to the next row TAB: to the next cell to the right SHIFT+TAB: to the previous cell to the left HOME: to the first cell of a row END: to the last cell of a row CTRL+HOME: to the first row of a data file CTRL+END: to the last row of a data file Jumping to a specified subgroup If you want to go directly to a specified subgroup in the Data Editor window, select Go To Group from the Edit menu. Enter the subgroup number in the Go to Group dialog box, and press Enter, or click on the OK button. |
