File Open/Save Mode
The File Open / Save Mode dialog box is available from the File Open dialog box and the Open/Save Mode from the File menu.
Choose one of the following modes for the file that is being opened:
- Normal (Exclusive Write): This mode allows editing to the data and options in
the file. You may also choose to automatically save the file and create a backup copy of the file.
- Read Only: No changes may be saved to the file. To save changes, the file must
be re-named. In this mode, you may also choose to Watch file for Changes , which is particularly useful if you want to monitor a process to which
someone else is adding data.
To invoke these options to other files opened later in this session, or during
future sessions, from your local drive (workstation), click on the Set to default checkbox.
