Displaying Assignable Causes

When an Assignable Cause is attached to a subgroup in the Chart Window, the Show on Chart checkbox in the Assignable Cause dialog box is used to display the Assignable Cause.

When charts are created that have previously had Assignable Causes attached, there are some options available in the Chart Options dialog box for selecting which Assignable Causes are displayed:

  • Store Assignable Cause in column: pre-selected to the column specified in the Analysis Options dialog box, if any, or as last specified from the Chart window. Otherwise, select the column.

  • Show all Assignable Causes: available when Amending a Chart without changing the Assignable Cause column, this option displays all Assignable Causes, regardless of whether an Assignable Cause had been “removed” (not shown) from the Chart window. (Select (None) from the Store Assignable Causes in Column list box to prevent display of all Assignable Causes).

  • Show Assignable Causes for added groups: (default ON when Assignable Cause column selected). This is shown for both "New Chart" and "Amend Chart" modes. When checked, Assignable Causes (if they exist) are displayed for new subgroups added to the chart when:

    • the chart is amended to include more groups (Group Range and/or Query condition change)

    • an [auto]recalc finds newly added data, or groups that now meet a query condition that were not met previously
