Defining a Gage Cursor

Gage readings are entered into a data set using a Gage Cursor , which is a pane that overlays onto the Data Editor window. To create a gage cursor, open the Gage Cursor dialog box by selecting Add Gage Cursor from the Data menu (ALT, D, G), or the Gage toolbar icon, either of which is available only when the Data Editor is the current window.

The Gage Cursor dialog box offers the following options:

Choose Pre-defined: Select from the drop down list box any of the already saved Gage Cursor settings. If no selection is made, then changes made to this dialog box will prompt for saving as a new Gage Cursor setup.

Note: Gage Cursor setups are stored in the default _gagedef.tbl file specified in the Preferences dialog box. To change the location of the default layouts file, select Preferences from the Options menu, then select the Directories button, and enter the appropriate directory path into the Layouts text box. This will also change the location of the Data File Layouts.
