Chart Symbols
Symbols shown on the control charts
- filled circle is used to mark all data points.
- open circle indicates the point meets the requirements of a control chart run
test.
- open box indicates that the point is out of control.
Symbols shown above the upper control chart in the window
- asterisks (*) indicate where subgroups were excluded from the analysis.
- A will appear if a point in the group was typed in by hand instead of from a
gage or a collector (if audit trails are turned on).
- E will appear if a point in the group was edited by hand, i.e., an existing
value was changed by entry from the keyboard (if audit trails are turned on).
- R will appear if a point in the group was edited using a new value from a gage
(if audit trails are turned on).
