| Contents | Index Alerts Alert messages may be sent to your own workstation, or other selected workstations on a network, for a variety of conditions, including control limit violations, run test violations, or going beyond threshold values of capability or specifications. For any of these conditions, you may set a message that will be displayed at the selected station, perhaps to indicate the corrective action required for such a condition. When the condition is actually violated, you can note your response (or action taken), which will be sent to the other workstations. Alerts may also trigger executables for functions such as sounding bells, running wave functions, signaling to external devices (CNC's, PLC's, or databases), or sending MAPI-compliant mail messages. See Executing Programs as Result of Alert Condition Note: In order to send alerts, or receive alerts from any workstation, including your own, you must "enable" the alerts through the Alerting Setup dialog box.
