Acknowledging Alerts
The Acknowledge Alerts option, available from the Chart menu when a chart window is the active
window, allows the alert conditions for the active chart to be acknowledged, which
turns off the Red (or Yellow for Warnings) flags displayed in the chart window.
New conditions that arise relative the chart’s Alert conditions will continue to activate new alert flags displayed on the
chart.
The list box in the Acknowledge Alerts dialog box lists all the alert conditions that have not yet been acknowledged by this workstation: Each alert includes the following information:
- the date and the time that the Alert was sent.
- the Alert Condition which was violated
- the subgroup number of which violated the Alert condition
- the Action message sent with the Alert
Keep Alerts: Select this option to close the dialog box and retain the current Alert flags
displayed on the chart.
Acknowledge / Delete: Select this option to remove the current Alert flags displayed on the chart.
The Alert flags will continue to be available in the Alert History dialog box. Any future violations of Alert conditions will re-set the flags
on the chart and this dialog box.
Note: If the Alert flags are acknowledged, but the chart is not saved as a
chart file, then all flags will be displayed for any new charts based on this
data, since the acknowledgment is on a per-chat basis.
