The Subgroup Status dialog box is opened by selecting a subgroup on a chart, then choosing the Subgroup Status option in the Chart menu (or the right mouse menu).
The selected subgroup’s details are provided at the top of the dialog box, including the Process Name, Characteristic Name, and Subgroup Date / Time.
Select one of the following options for the selected subgroup:
Include Subgroup on Chart and in Calculations: (default) When selected, the subgroup will be displayed on the chart and included in the appropriate calculations.
Note: Calculations are also affected by both the Auto Drop feature, as well as the Control Limits Fixed option in the Define Characteristic dialog box's Regions tab.
Drop Subgroup from Chart: When selected, the subgroup will not be displayed on the control chart, nor will it be used in calculations. (See also note above). Once dropped from the chart, (i.e. status made inactive) a subgroup can be added back in using the Inactive Subgroups dialog box, available from the Chart menu.
Drop Subgroup from Calculations: When selected, the subgroup will be shown on the chart, but not included in the calculations. (See also note above). Once dropped from the calculations, the subgroup will be displayed in gray on the chart. To include it in the calculations, simply select the grayed subgroup from the chart and change its status to the first option listed above.
