Setting Up Real-Time Work Sets Tutorial

This tutorial provides an overview of the suggested procedures for defining Work Sets for real-time data collection.

Before beginning this tutorial, you should review the introductory information in the Getting Started and Explorer View Analysis and Reporting tutorials.

Data Collection activities for real-time data entry are grouped within the database by user-defined Work Sets. You create Work Sets so that your personnel can quickly open all the charts needed for a certain process operation, customer or work station; however their data collection activity is structured!.

Work Sets may be created in a number of ways. To create a data entry Work Set that includes all the Characteristics in a Process or Part, the easiest way is to select the Process in the Process branch, then use the Create Work Set option from the right mouse menu.

You can also, of course, select the main Work Set branch, then use the Add Work Set option. Once a Work Set is created, additional Characteristics can be conveniently added to the Work Set by dragging and dropping them from the Process branch, or by editing the Work Set.
