Each Process has a set of options associated with it, most notably the Characteristics associated with the Process.
Use the right mouse button to click on the Order Processing process, then select the Edit Process option to view the Define Process dialog box (shown below).
You can set the 20 character Process Name, a 60 character Process Description, and the Characteristics you'll be measuring in the process. We can add additional characteristics to this process using the Add button on the right side of the dialog box. An even easier way to add characteristics is by dragging and dropping characteristics from the Explorer view branches.
The Active status checkbox may be used instead of deleting the item, and has the advantage of easy retrieval of the information (if you have the correct user privilege. It is also useful for defining Processes, their Characteristics, and Work Sets before Data Entry personnel can enter data, or once a part is removed from Production.
Note also towards the bottom of the dialog box that edits are automatically logged into the database, so it is easy to see who last edited this process and when that edit occurred.
The Note / Image tab is used to add a message and/or picture image specific to this process or part. These are accessible to users when data is being entered or charts analyzed for this process.
Use the Cancel button to close the dialog box, or the OK button to close the dialog box and save any changes you may have made.
