The Process Monitor Analysis window provides a tabular view of the Characteristics included in the Analysis, as well as several key indicators of their status, as defined in the Define Analysis dialog box Process Monitor Options tab.
Note: The statistics and control chart displayed for each Characteristic is based on the options specified for the Characteristic in this Analysis (such as from the Define Characteristic option in the Analysis branch for a selected Characteristic). The plotted subgroups for each Characteristic may be set globally for this Analysis in the Define Analysis Plotted Data tab.
The top pane of the Process Monitor Analysis window provides a table with the following columns for each Characteristic:
Alert Status: (default: IN CONTROL) This indicator column reports whether the Characteristic fails any of the Alert conditions specified in the Process Monitor Options. If an applied Alert condition is violated but not yet acknowledged for the Characteristic, then the icon for the row (the leftmost symbol in the row) will display its alert status (for example, the traffic light icon will be red) and the background of the button pane (bottom right in window) will be red.
Yield: (displayed when Show Capability Stats is selected in the Process Monitor Options and Yield is selected in the Preferences dialog box) The predicted yield (see Note above).
DPMO: (displayed when Show Capability Stats is selected in the Process Monitor Options and DPMO is selected in the Preferences dialog box) The predicted Defects per Million Opportunities defect rate for the process (see Note above).
Cpk, Cp, Ppk, Pp: (displayed when Show Capability Stats is selected in the Process Monitor Options and index selected in the Preferences dialog box) The calculated capability and performance indices based on the analysis options (see Note above).
Incapable, Marginal: (displayed when Show Capability Stats is selected in the Process Monitor Options) lists any of the Capability or Performance indices which meet the Marginal Values and Incapable Values definition specified in the Process Monitor Options The bottom pane of the Process Monitor Analysis window provides a summary of the analysis for the Characteristic selected in the top pane. The following options are available for the selected Characteristic:
Show Chart: Selecting this option in the right mouse menu, the Chart menu, or the bottom pane of the window, or double-clicking on the Characteristic in the table, will open the Characteristic’s pre-defined control chart (see Note above).
Show All Charts: Selecting this button in the bottom pane of the window will open the control charts specified for each Characteristics in the Analysis.
Acknowledge Alerts: Select this button to indicate that all outstanding alert conditions have been reviewed. When selected, a prompt will be displayed, listing the Characteristics with one or more outstanding Alert Conditions (that is, those subgroups have been added to the database since the Last Acknowledgement that match the Alert Conditions defined in the Process Monitor Options). When the Yes button is used to continue the Acknowledgement, the current date and time is written to the Analysis as the Last Acknowledgement date. The Last Acknowledgement date is listed in the bottom pane of the window with the summary of potential alert conditions (Out of Control, Out of Spec, and Run Test Violations) for each Characteristic’s data included in the Analysis.
Note: Since the Alerts are defined for a given Analysis based on the Last Acknowledgement Date, is, any new conditions added to the Alert (as defined in the Process Monitor Options), new Characteristics added to the Analysis, or the addition or editing of data, will not trigger a new Alert notification.
