Data may be entered into the database in a number of ways:
· Spreadsheets are best used for offline data entry and editing. The spreadsheets also support user-defined formulas, as well as copy/paste.
· When a chart is displayed, a Data Form is available by selecting the Show Data Form option in the Chart (or right mouse) menu.
· External data may be opened directly using the File/Open menu options. The external data, such as text files, Excel files, QDB files, and databases, may be linked or imported to the database, then analyzed.
· If the optional real-time features have been purchased, the Work Set view's Data Form may be used for real time process data entry and editing. It supports data entry via a keyboard, barcode and electronic gages and multiplexers. Multiple Characteristics included in a formula can also be entered into a single data form for the Formula Characteristic, or in a Data Entry Tab.
Editing of existing data is permitted only with the Data Edit privilege .
