Work Sets are generally used for real-time data entry of Process Characteristics. A Work Set is a group of charts, each chart representing the data corresponding to a single process characteristic, a formula based on multiple characteristics, or a data entry tab based on multiple characteristics. Work Sets can consist of different characteristics from the same process, or characteristics from multiple processes. Work Sets typically contain all the charts needed for a certain process operation or Work Cell, so that the set of charts may be conveniently opened in a single step. Once the Processes and their Characteristics have been defined in the database, a Work Set may be defined using the Define Work Set dialog box , accessible from the Explorer view's Work Set branch.
Work Sets may be set to an Inactive status to prevent data entry, such as when the data is no longer entered for the Characteristics or before data should be entered for the characteristics (i.e. to prevent unauthorized data entry).
Work Sets may be created in a number of ways:
· Using the Add Work Set option from the Work Set (or right mouse) menu when the Work Set branch is selected. This opens the Define Work Set dialog box for manual addition of Process Characteristics to the Work Set.
· Using the Create Work Set option from the Process (or right mouse) menu when a specific process is selected within the Process branch. This action creates a new Work Set with the same name as the selected process.
· Using the Create Work Set(s) option from the right mouse menu when the one or more processes are selected from the Process List will create multiple Work Sets, each with the same name as the selected processes.
Note: The Process List is opened by selecting the Process branch, then selecting the List Records option from the Process (or right mouse) menu. Multiple processes may be selected in the Process List by holding down the Ctrl key as an item is selected using the mouse.
An example of a Work Set is available in the Data Entry Tutorial. Creating a new Work Set is shown in the Defining Work Set tutorial.
