Certificate of Analysis

One or more selected Characteristics may be exported to MS Word for reporting purposes. A Certificate of Analysis is a special type of Word Export, where a Traceability Field may be used to filter the report contents. For more advanced filtering, first create an Analysis which uses the necessary filter criteria, then use the standard Export to Word function.

1.    Define the Characteristic or Characteristics to be exported:

a.    To export a single Characteristic: Select a Characteristic from the Process or Analysis branch (or Work Set branch if real-time option purchased).

b.    To export all Characteristics in a Process or Analysis (or Work Set if real-time option purchased): Select a Process, Analysis or Work Set from its respective branch.

2.    Select the Certificate of Analysis option from the right mouse menu.

3.    Select one of the Traceability Fields common to all the Characteristics, then select the Traceability Item to filter the data. Only data associated with the Traceability Item will be included in the exported results.

4.    Select a valid Word template. This is mandatory, since the template indicates which fields will be displayed, and where, within the resulting Word document. See Using Word Bookmarks to Build Reports

5.    A new MS Word file will be created and opened containing the data and analysis fields as indicated by the template. The results reflect the analysis at the time of the export, and are not dynamically updated when new data or analysis options are invoked.
