Selected data from each Characteristic in the Process branch can be archived to reduce the size of your database. (See also: Repairing and Compacting the Database). The location of the archival database (where the records will be moved) is specified in the Preferences dialog box's Database tab.
Select a Characteristic from the Process branch, then select the right mouse menu for these options:
Note: These options are not available for linked data.
Archive Data: Select this option to extract data from the selected Characteristic. You will be prompted to select the data range of the extracted data (i.e. all data up to and including the specified date), or use the Archive All Data for this Characteristic to extract all the data. The extracted data will be moved to the specified archival database, and will no longer exist in the source database.
Restore Data: Use this option to move all data for the selected Characteristic from the specified archival database (see above) to the current database.
