Alerts and Corrective Actions

When a new observation exceeds a specification value, or a new subgroup violates a control limit or applied Run Test rule, the data entry user may be prompted to enter an Assignable Cause or Corrective Action. Users with the appropriate database permissions may enter new Assignable Cause or Corrective Action items to the list boxes, as shown below.

image\mouse.gif If you weren’t auto-advanced to the Thickness tab, select it and enter data as follows:

image\mouse.gif Select the plus image\plus.gif button from the Data Form.

image\mouse.gif Enter the value 0.721 into the data text box. Keep the default values in the traceability Fields, and use either the Enter or OK buttons to enter the completed subgroup into the database.

image\mouse.gif In the Alert Condition dialog box, note the prompting message provided to the data entry personnel: Verify Measurement. If correct, locate error (check for residue at stop plate).

image\mouse.gif Select Raw Material Problem from the Assignable Cause list box. In the Corrective Action list box, type 100% Inspection as a new item in the list box. Use the Close button to enter the information into the database.

In addition to this prompt provided for the data entry personnel, automated email messages may also be directed to any valid email address when the alert condition occurs.
