Adding Data in the Explorer View

When a Characteristic already exists in the database, we can easily add more data in a number of ways. The easiest way is perhaps with the Data Entry form.

image\mouse.gif Select the Processing Time chart in the Explorer view’s right pane, then turn on (add the checkmark) the Show Data Form option in the right mouse menu.

image\mouse.gif Click on any of the subgroups on the chart, and notice that the Data Form’s contents are updated to reflect the selected subgroup. Note that each subgroup has associated fields: one or more Traceability Fields (in this case Client Type); an optional Subgroup Note field for general comments; the user who entered the data; and the date and time the data was entered.

image\mouse.gif In the Data Form that appears to the right of the control chart, select the Plus image\plus.gif button, then enter the value 0.92 into the text box provided. Note that the Traceability Fields are automatically entered, but may be modified by selecting one of the other items in the list, or by entering a new value. Select the OK button to enter the new subgroup value with its Traceability Fields.
