I have a 64-bit version of Windows, will the above SPC products work on my system?

What are the system requirements for the newly integrated MindGenius application?
When I try to install the SPC product the setup acts like it is trying to open but never does, or a prompt appears requiring an administrative login/password.
Errors:
I receive the error "Error Number 1004 has occurred: Cannot insert Object" when trying to create a chart.
I receive the error "Compile Error in hidden module" when launching Excel.
The error "Security has been set on this computer to prevent ActiveX controls from loading" or "This Application is about to initialize ActiveX controls that might be unsafe..." appears when trying to view or create a SPC Chart.
I had one of the above SPC products installed and working, but now the SPC Chart icon suddenly went missing.
The SPC Chart icon is not visible on the toolbar; however, the Create SPC Chart option is available on the Tools menu. What should I do?

of the Green Belt Utility and more!

software works intermediately with Microsoft Excel, and therefore should be
added on top of the system requirements for any of the following supported

Our SPC products require administrative rights for installation to guarantee write access to proper folders needed for installation.

I receive the error message "Error Number 1004 has occurred: Cannot insert Object" when trying to create a chart.
This error can occur if the file qachart.ocx has been renamed, deleted, or unregistered in the Windows registry.

Verify the file qachart.ocx is within the specified installation folder (i.e. C:\Program Files\SPC IV Excel).
Login as an Administrator, hold shift and left-click the SPC-IV Excel shortcut or spcivxl.exe. This will enable
debug mode which will attempt to register necessary files into the Windows registry. Select OK after every prompt
until the main Excel screen is reached.
Windows Vista | 7
Verify the file qachart.ocx is within the specified installation folder (i.e. C:\Program Files\SPC IV Excel). Hold
shift, right-click the SPC-IV Excel shortcut or spcivxl.exe and click Run As Administrator. A Window's UAC prompt
may appear asking for an administrative login. Enter an administrative username and password, and select Yes. This
will enable debug mode which will attempt to register necessary files into the Windows registry. Select OK after
every prompt until the main Excel screen is reached.

This error can occur when a SPC product has been mistakenly added as an Add-in to Excel.

From the main Excel screen, select the Tools drop-down menu and select Add-Ins. You may have to extend the drop-
down menu to see the entire list, do this by pressing the double arrows at the bottom of the menu. A popup window
should appear with a list containing all the available Add-Ins. Scroll down the menu to SPC-IV Excel, uncheck the
box next to it, and then click the OK button.
Microsoft Excel 2007
Open the "Office Button" from the main Excel screen and click the "Excel Options" button. A new window should
appear listing sub-categories of Excel Options. Select the Add-Ins tab. At the bottom of the display window
should be a drop down menu labelled Manage. Use this drop down menu to select Excel Add-Ins then press the Go
button. A popup window should appear with a list containing all the available Add-Ins. Scroll down the menu to
SPC-IV Excel, uncheck the box next to it, and then click the OK button.
The error "Security has been set on this computer to prevent ActiveX controls from loading" or "This Application is about to initialize ActiveX controls that
might be unsafe..." appears when trying to view or create a SPC Chart.
Either of these errors can occur when ActiveX controls have been disabled or restricted in Excel.

This problem occurs when you try to open a document that contains ActiveX Controls that are marked as unsafe for initialization (UFI). Select Yes to allow
the ActiveX Controls to load.
Microsoft Excel 2007
Open the "Office Button" from the main Excel screen and click the "Excel Options" button. A new window should appear listing sub-categories of Excel Options.
Select "Trust Center" then click the "Trust Center Settings..." button. Another window should appear, select "ActiveX Settings". In the display window, there
should be several radio button checkboxes. Make sure "Disable all controls without notification" is NOT selected.

This error can occur after updating Microsoft Office or specifically Microsoft Excel. The update process causes Excel to block a necessary SPC file,
excelspc.dll.

From the main Excel screen, select the "Help" drop down menu and click the "About Microsoft Excel" item. An information window should appear, click the
"Disabled Items..." button listed in the bottom-right corner of this window. Inside the list presented, the file excelspc.dll should be present, select it
and click the "Enable" button.

Open the "Office Button" from the main Excel screen and click the "Excel Options" button. A new window should appear listing sub-categories of Excel Options.
Select "Trust Center" then click the "Trust Center Settings..." button. Another window should appear, select "Add-ins". In the display window, there should
be three checkboxes. Make sure "Disable all Application Add-ins (may impair functionality)" and "Require Application Add-ins to be signed by Trusted
Publisher" are UNCHECKED.
The SPC Chart icon is not visible on the toolbar; however, the Create SPC Chart option is available on the Tools menu. What should I do??
This error can occur when Excel's Standard toolbar is turned off.
Microsoft Excel 2000 | XP | 2003
In Excel, select Customize from the Tools menu. In the Toolbars tab, Standard should be checked. If this is not the problem, the Reset button on the Toolbar
tab has been selected and the icons will not be shown. The icons should reappear when Excel is reopened.
