After selecting the file from the Add-Ins box, I get an error that says, "Excel has caused an error in ExcelSPC.dll." How do I fix this?
You are probably using Windows 95, 98, or ME and the original release of Excel 97. A Service Release patch must be applied for the software to function properly. The Service Release can be downloaded from Microsoft at http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/9798/sr1off97detail.aspx

I am getting an EXCEL.EXE Print Preview error. Is there a way to fix this?
This error is usually encountered due to a conflict with certain printer drivers and an OffscreenBuffer. One work around might be to make the graph smaller so that it will easily fit on a single page. We have also discovered that there is a way to turn off that buffer and it resolves this error in most cases, but you must manually add in a new registry key and a string value that is = to True. If you are not familiar with the Windows registry we recommend you consult someone who is before attempting this. You can do serious damage to your windows installation by altering things in there without advanced knowledge of the Windows registry.
  • Click Start, select Run, enter "regedit" (without the quotes) and click OK.
  • On the left hand "explorer view" navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Quality America, Inc.\SPC IV Excel.
  • Right-click on the folder and choose New\String Value. This will create a new entry in the right panel.
  • The default name is "New Value #1." Change that to NOB and press Enter.
  • Right-click on the NOB key and choose Modify. In the Value data: field type "True" without the quotes and click OK.
  • Close and exit regedit.
